So, about that gaming post we promised:
This past Friday we played Warmahordes (Warmachine and Hordes) in a four player free-for all game. The scenario had a 1X1 square in the center that you got 1 point for controlling at the beginning of your turn, first player to 3 points wins.
Overall we're still learning the rules for Warmachine so turns took longer than a typical game (did you know that if you throw a model it goes over intervening models, not through them? We didn't.) Peter, Maerada, and I have been playing Warmachine casually since about August and Mark is just learning now. The game lasted until about 1:30, and ended when Peter and I agreed to draw the game rather than dance around the board with our few remaining models for another hour or so.
Peter and I had each eliminated one of the other players, with Peter eliminating Maerada, and me eliminating Mark, so it seemed reasonable to call it a draw.
Our impressions of Warmachine as a system have been pretty good, it's our first forray into miniatures and the primary impetus for getting us in was an excellent demo at GenCon and the fact that each model includes a card that has all the rules for that model on the card.
One of us will be posting something about the food and one of us will post something about the gaming pretty much each Saturday/Sunday. We're just getting the blog off the ground, so it'll take a few weeks for us to get into the habit.
Have a good week, and keep your stick on the ice.

Peter signing in
This is Peter signing in for the first time, I just wanted to say Hello to anybody reading this blog.
(If you are reading this as the post is put up you are allowed to say you are my biggest fan if I ever get famous)
Also Mark forgot to put that we would also be talking about our gaming along with the food. So if you are interested in either gaming or food be welcome, and if your interested in both that's even better. But if you interested in neither don't worry we still like you.

This is a blog. Blogs are usually for silly people who want to be famous. We have no aspirations to be famous. Famous people get chased around by paparazzi and snort coke and crash cars.
Apparently Peter wants to be famous. That's ok, we still like him.
No, this blog is one of those, "hey we do all this eating out, do think we should document it somewhere for posterity and the benefit of anyone who will read it?" Sure.
So, if you're looking for somewhere to eat in Novi check us out weekly. We'll be around.
