So,  about that gaming post we promised:

This past Friday we played Warmahordes (Warmachine and Hordes) in a four player free-for all game.  The scenario had a 1X1 square in the center that you got 1 point for controlling at the beginning of your turn, first player to 3 points wins.

Overall we're still learning the rules for Warmachine so turns took longer than a typical game (did you know that if you throw a model it goes over intervening models, not through them?  We didn't.)  Peter, Maerada, and I have been playing Warmachine casually since about August and Mark is just learning now.  The game lasted until about 1:30, and ended when Peter and I agreed to draw the game rather than dance around the board with our few remaining models for another hour or so.

Peter and I had each eliminated one of the other players, with Peter eliminating Maerada, and me eliminating Mark, so it seemed reasonable to call it a draw.

Our impressions of Warmachine as a system have been pretty good, it's our first forray into miniatures and the primary impetus for getting us in was an excellent demo at GenCon and the fact that each model includes a card that has all the rules for that model on the card.

One of us will be posting something about the food and one of us will post something about the gaming pretty much each Saturday/Sunday.  We're just getting the blog off the ground, so it'll take a few weeks for us to get into the habit.

Have a good week, and keep your stick on the ice.
